Desmond Nunn is a dancer, singer, actor, choreographer, and songwriter based in New York City. Being creative has always been his passion. The opportunity to turn pattern into choreography or to take a pattern and make a pair of shorts! I like being able to create something that doesn’t exist yet. Making something out of nothing was something he and his family did regularly. With the right mindset, you can be in rags but only see riches all around you. Desmond attended the University of Alabama (Presidential Scholarship), where he trained as a dance major under the artistic direction of Cornelius Carter. After college, Desmond worked for the Huntsville Ballet Company as a Principal Dancer and later as Ballet Master. After three seasons with the company, he moved to New York City to further pursue professional opportunities. He performed with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for one season before being cast as an original member of the Angelica Tour of Hamilton, 1st National. He served the Angelica company as Dance Captain/Ensemble Swing, John Laurens/Philip Hamilton Cover, and Dance Supervisor. Desmond was thrilled to be in Germany working as the Associate Choreographer of Hamilton Hamburg. Little did he know he would be make his Deutschland premiere with the company less than a year later. Performing with this company made him the second person ever to perform the show in 2 languages. Once the show was set, he returned to the US as Universal Dance Supervisor for the three touring companies of Hamilton. He is currently the Dance Supervisor of the Philip Tour of Hamilton, which is currently touring the US. Everyone wants to express themselves in one way or another. If he keeps going, he keep moving forward. The goal isn’t far, but always forward.
